The Ardennes Offensive neared its climax on Christmas day as the tankers of the Grossdeutschland moved in to break the American lines on the Ourthe River. In order to cut the Allied forces in half and separate them from their supply lines, the brigade assaulted the towns of Hotton and Hampteau. The capture of those two crossings would trap the American 3rd Armored Division on the wrong side of the Ourthe.
Objectives: Your company will move north to secure the river crossings at Hotton and Hampteau. Your platoon is in the center of the company battleline, and will move north to the objectives. Be aware that the enemy is both north and west of your position; if the platoon on the left flank falters, your left flank will be exposed.
